About Us
The world is filled of facts and stories worth telling. Lists is one of the most powerful ways to present these matters of importance. It could be lists of anything from global issues like starvation and global warming to lists of the best strikers in the history of your favorite football club. Wikilists.eu is a site for lists of all sort of things. Our primary goal is to create and collect as many interesting lists as possible at the same place. We are quite sure that you will find many of our lists and the things that they present both interesting and surprising.
At wikilists.eu you can find a few different types of lists:
1. Fact-based lists with ranked alternatives.
This is our most common type of list. Our The list usually consists 5, 10 or 25 different alternatives that is listed by a specific parameter by facts from reliable sources. The listed alternatives should as often as possible have a list description and a link embedded in for each alternative in the table that leads to a separate page were there more information to be found about the listed thing. These links usually leads to a Wikipedia page of the listed alternative or a other Wikilist page or in some cases to a Youtube video or another suitable site. Our Goal is that all of our listed alternatives should have a link embedded. We also strive to add pictures and descriptions to as many lists as possible, although our general approach is that it is better to have a list without pictures and descriptions of a specific thing than none at all.
2. Lists based on the opinion of the writer or a third party source.
(has to be market with an (O) and the alternatives does not have to be ranked.)
In some cases, there won't be possible to create a list without involving opinions. For an example if you want to create list of "the most unveiling documentaries", there is no "correct" alternative that you can place as number one, and therefore the opinion of the writer or of a third party is required to complete the list.
3. Lists based on comparisons of reviews.
(Should be marked with an (R) )
For listing different kind of products we usually use a special but very simple method: comparisons of reviews. For an example: to create a list of the "Best mobile phones on the market 2014", you will have to find at least three reliable sources that review each alternative. The rating of the different mobile phones should then be based on the average rating that has been given of the three presented sources. For an example. If Samsung Galaxy III received a 5 star rating from source one and a 4 star rating from source 2 and a 3 star rating from source 3 Samsung Galaxy's average rating will be 4.0. As simple as that!
