Last Updated 2014-05-11

This is a list of countries by Winter Olympic game medals. The table is sorted by the number of gold medals. Note that many countries have competed under different IOC-codes, and are therefore listed as separate countries. Soviet Union/Russia and Germany are also listed with a total number of medals for all their IOC-codes together. Listed with all their IOC-codes together, both Total Soviet Union/Russia and Total Germany have won more gold medals than any other country. The table is updated after the Sochi Olympics 2014.
