All-time Summer Olympic Medal Table
This is a list of countries by Summer Olympic game medals. The table is sorted by the number of gold medals. Note that many countries have competed under different IOC-codes, and are therefore listed as separate countries. Soviet Union/Russia and Germany are also listed with a total number of medals for all their IOC-codes together. Total Germany and Total Soviet Union/Russia have not won enough medals to beat United States, but in fact it is enough to beat all other countries. The table is updated after the London 2012 Olympics.
