Fastest Growing Alternative Energy Sources by Capacity Growth

This is a list of the fastest growing renewable energy sources on the planet. Only energy sources with a current producing capacity of more than 0,1 % of the global energy production are included. As the list reveals, solar energy from solar pv modules has been the fastest growing energy source over the last years. Contributing factors to the increased use of solar modules is its rapid technical development with increased efficiency,  its limited impact on the environment and its advantage of requiring less space than alternatives like wind turbines and hydropower usually do.
